If you want to rise fast as a serious and competent professional, then cultivate class into your everydays, on and off the field.
More than fashion, it seems that words start or lose their punch or power within weeks or even days. However, “class” is one of those words that is instantly known and aspirational. In these turbulent times of post-pandemic and shifting societal and cultural norms, class is one of those words that continues to be granted to those, in our world, as badges of honor and respect and competence.
Class, and I love Quora’s definition, means, “… how that person exhibits himself/herself. The person with class is humble, considerate, sympathetic, understanding, loving, caring, kind, goes out of their way to devote undivided attention to others. They are not rude, nor obnoxious, not vulgar nor loud.”
Being a person who exhibits “class” or is “classy”, is a compliment. Being a person, maybe a politician I hope, who earns the title of “class act” is someone I want to vote for. Being an upcoming professional who handles themselves with class is someone I want to hire. And aspiring to build this in yourself is a worthy investment.
“Classy is when you have a lot to say but you choose to remain silent in front of fools.”
